The Trials of Apollo: The Dark Prophesy

The Dark Prophecy (The Trials of Apollo, #2)The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m so tired of Rick Riordan writing amazing books… Like can the guy just be human for a moment and write something I don’t like?

I think one of the best things about the Trials of Apollo series is his character development. He does a great job at creating dynamic characters that grow and change like real people would. When I read the first book for the first time, I was a little peeved with Apollo, I’m not gonna lie. I knew he was supposed to be narcissistic and selfish, but there were points when I just really didn’t like him or care about him. But then I read it again and realized how hilarious it was and all of the sudden I sympathized for Apollo and was totally on his side. This was even more the case in the second book. I got to the point where I just loved him as a character and was rooting for him the whole way.

I also love the way he incorporates old characters from his previous books! It was so fun to see how Leo and Calypso are doing and I’m excited to see how shows up next in the third book. (Hint: Big Percy Jackson and the Olympians character that was in the Heroes of Olympus for like a millisecond.)
