This is a copy of Mavic’s essay he wrote in his writing class, as mentioned in chapter 5. (As an author and teacher, I can by no means call this good writing, but there is some entertainment value I suppose…)

Outtakes
Below are some outtakes from book 2. These outtakes were mainly centered on the idea that Aurella would finds some way to communicate with her family and friends back in Dovice. I ended up cutting them because they didn’t add anything to the story and were mainly written out of wish fulfillment – I just really missed some of the old characters. Keep in mind that these were taken from a very early, unedited draft so the grammar, spelling, and overall writing quality isn’t great.

Character Sketches
These character sketches are by no means perfect, or exactly how I picture my two main characters, but they are as close as I could get. Also, as an author, I tend to imagine my characters as they are in the past, present, and future, so I’m not positive how old they are in these sketches. Aurella is somewhere between 12 and 15 and Mavic is somewhere between 15 and 18.
